Dazzling Dan’s Magic Connections
Dan and Lisa return in 2019, with new magic classes for children; both beginners and advanced!
Classes begin Monday 11th February 2019, and run weekly from 4:15pm on MONDAY nights, at Grovedale Neighbourhood House.
It is not too late to join in the fun!
Option 1. Learn Magic
Time: 4:15pm – 5:00pm
Cost: $12 week + $30 registration (includes magic props & resources)
Total cost (7 weeks): $114
Skill level: Open to students of all ages and abilities, 6yrs-15yrs
Option 2. Extend your Magic (Learn Magic; as above + Advanced Group Tuition)
Time: 4:15pm – 5:45pm
Cost: $20 + $30 registration (includes magic props & resources)
Total cost (7 weeks): $170
Skill level: The extended magic class is aimed at building students skills and confidence, beyond performing a single trick. They will learn additional secrets, build an act and discover how magic tricks can be applied in different ways. This class is for magic enthusiasts, with a hunger for knowledge and a desire to perform. 8yrs+ (we will consider younger students who demonstrate a strong interest and understanding)
Course Structure
During 7 weeks of discovery, we will hack reality and combine illusions, to create a show where you are the magician. Students learn the secrets of the magician and how to perform their magic act with confidence…and friends!
In Term 1 classes run weekly on Mondays, at Grovedale Neighbourhood House.
NOTE: There will be no class held on Monday 11th March 2019 (Labour Day, VIC Public Holiday).
Our LEARN MAGIC (all ages 6-15yrs) will run from 4:15pm – 5:00pm. Students learn and construct a new magic trick, working together, sharing ideas and supporting one and other.
We acknowledging older students crave to know more and extend on what is possible, so we created an advanced session. EXTEND YOUR MAGIC runs 5:00pm – 5:45pm (immediately following the Learn Magic Class), and the students work with Dan to create alternative tricks, and combine ideas to create a magic act. As a team students practise more advanced techniques in front of each other, discover how to engage with an audience and the secrets of performance to develop their communication skills and confidence.
NOTE: Classes start a couple weeks into Term 1, as we acknowledge the first few weeks of school are always a little chaotic!
Term 1, 2019 – Key Dates
Venue: Moonah Room, Grovedale Neighbourhood House, located in the Grovedale Community Hub, 45 Heyers Road, Grovedale, Victoria, Australia 3216

Learn Magic
If you cannot attend Dan’s magic course, you can learn a lot from the tricks he has hand picked to sell in his online shop. Dan not only provides quality magic props for beginner magicians, but also snappy, high quality tutorial videos, where Dan himself teaches you how to perform and present the tricks.
Visit Dazzling Dan’s online MAGIC SHOP and start creating magic at home.
Dazzling Dan also conducts magic workshops as part of vacation care programs and holiday promotions.
Visit Dazzling Dan’s Upcoming Public Performances to see where Dan is appearing next and if any workshops are planned.

Magic Props
If you have learnt, understood and mastered all the introductory magic sets, and want to explore more advanced magic and props, a list of reputable magic shops in Australia can be found on the Australian Institute of Magic’s Website.
Remember that buying professional magic props is an expensive exercise, as you pay a premium to learn the secret. Many magic books (and perhaps DVDs) can be found at your local library, which include tricks you can make with household items. YouTube is another place to see magic explained, but I have a few reservations about YouTube (and digital downloads) being the only source of magical learning. Many videos only expose magic, not teach how to best perform the tricks.

Magic Clubs
If you want to learn how to perform & entertain with magic, I recommend you browse The Australian Institute of Magic’s Website. It lists magic clubs (junior and adult) and events where you can discover and develop your magic with like-minded folk. – australianinstituteofmagic.org
